Residents in Abeokuta, Ogun State poured into the streets of the State capital on Tuesday over the scarcity of Naira notes and the attendant effects.
The protesters held placards bearing different inscriptions have vowed to continue their agitation indefinitely until the new Naira crisis is resolved.
Protesters were seen in places like Aladesanmi, and Somorin in Obantoko area of Abeokuta making bonfires and chanting anti–government songs.
The Sapon branch of First Bank was vandalised as the protesters attempted to set it ablaze.
Another massive protest hit the GTBank in Asero area of Abeokuta, disrupting human and vehicular activities. The protesters blocked the inward and outward road access. Some protesters have been reportedly shot in videos that are now viral.
