Protesters in Plateau Hold Church Service on Protest Ground

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang

Protesters in Plateau State held a Sunday worship service at the Old Airport roundabout in Jos, where they have been gathering since the protest began four days ago.

The interfaith service, attended by both Christians and Muslims, mirrored last Friday’s jumat prayers held by Muslim participants at the same location. The number of protesters increased compared to previous gatherings, and they temporarily transformed the area into a place of worship, singing praises and worship songs to mark Day 4 of the protest.

The demonstrators expressed dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s Sunday morning broadcast, claiming it did not address the issues they raised.

Security personnel, led by the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, oversaw the peaceful activities, which have remained calm throughout the protest. However, the protesters may continue their actions, as they find the President’s response unsatisfactory.

Leaders of the coalition in Plateau State are meeting to decide on the next steps in response to the President’s address, which they have deemed unsatisfactory and unacceptable.
