Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were held to a 1-1 draw by Reims on Saturday, despite a strong performance from new signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who made his debut for the club.
Kvaratskhelia played a key role in setting up Ousmane Dembele’s goal, but PSG were unable to follow up their impressive Champions League win over Manchester City with another victory in Ligue 1.
Dembele, in excellent form, opened the scoring early in the second half with a deflected shot, his eighth goal in seven matches.
However, Japanese international Keito Nakamura responded quickly for Reims, leveling the score just nine minutes later. Despite multiple chances, PSG couldn’t regain the lead and were forced to share the points.
PSG remain undefeated in Ligue 1 this season and hold a provisional 10-point lead over Marseille at the top of the table. However, their attention now shifts to Wednesday’s crucial Champions League match against VfB Stuttgart, where a draw will secure their progression to the knockout stages.
