American rapper and record executive Terrence Thornton better known as Pusha T has openly admitted to cutting ties with Kanye West’s former record label G.O.O.D Music. In a recent interview, the 45year old confirmed his affiliation was over following West’s outspoken descent into antisemitism.
Although Pusha T joined the label in 2010 and released his 2022 Grammy nominated album ‘It’s Almost Dry’ under the label, he now shares a 50/50 deal directly with Def Jam the parent company for his music and his own label, Heir Wave Music Group. This follows Def Jams decision to end its business relationship with Kanye west and G.O.O.D music.
The rapper said that he hasn’t spoken to West since he articulated his disappointment, revealing that it is not the first time they’ve disagreed recalling West’s public support for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016.
The two have worked on multiple projects together, first on West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” album on the track “Runaway.” West executively produced Pusha’s solo albums, including Grammy-nominated “It’s Almost Dry”.
