Qatar 2022: Brazil to Rest Key Players Against Cameroon

Qatar 2022: Brazil To Rest Key Players Against Cameroon (News Central TV)

Brazil will rest key players against Cameroon in order to prevent a repetition of Neymar’s World Cup disappointment.  Tite will take minimal chances in Brazil’s final World Cup group stage encounter on Friday, hoping to preserve his players fresh for the knockout stages.

According to GOAL, Brazil will rest most, if not all, of their starting lineup against Cameroon. With nothing to play for, Tite’s Brazil will play it cautiously, knowing that his players might be exposed in the last group stage match.

The rotation might provide some younger players with vital World Cup experience. Rodrygo and Gabriel Martinelli, for example, are expected to make their tournament debuts for Brazil.

Dani Alves, who made an unlikely comeback to the national team just before the World Cup, is set to be named to the starting XI, which would be yet another highlight in his illustrious career.

Brazil is aiming for its first World Cup victory in two decades in Qatar, with 26 players on the roster. The South American powerhouse entered the 2022 tournament as the world’s top-ranked squad, and many of the players on manager Tite’s roster are household names who play for some of the world’s best clubs. Tite’s team had won seven straight games before the world cup and had not lost any of their previous 16 games.

The 26-man squad of Brazil includes –

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City) and Weverton (Palmeiras)

Defenders: Thiago Silva (Chelsea), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Danilo (Juventus), Eder Millitao (Real Madrid), Alex Telles (Sevilla), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Bremer (Juventus), and Dani Alves (PUMAS)

Midfielders: Casemiro (Manchester United), Lucas Paqueta (West Ham United), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), and Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United)

Forwards: Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspur), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid), Antony (Manchester United), Raphinha (Barcelona), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Pedro (Flamengo), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)
