American singer and songwriter, Robert Sylvester Kelly popularly known as R. Kelly convicted for multiple sex offences just dropped the biggest surprise album of 2022. Titled “I Admit It” with lyrics that address the years of allegations levelled against the sex-offender.
The new album full of tracks includes some that appear to reference the sexual assault allegations against him.
Earlier this year, the singer was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
He was also recently found guilty of three child pornography counts and three counts of enticing minors for sex in a separate case, in Chicago.
The 55-year-old released a new 13-track album, titled I Admit It, which has been made available on Apple Music and Spotify.
The last three songs are titled I Admit It (I Did It) part one, part two, and part three.
He reflected on his previous misdeeds in the last three songs, slamming the accusations he has been met with.
‘How they gon’ say I don’t respect these women when all I’ve done is represent,’ the publication claims he could be heard singing on one track. ‘You mad I’ve got some girlfriends’.
He also claimed the allegations that he had ‘brainwashed’ and ‘kidnapped’ women sounded ‘silly’, and referenced the parents of one woman he was allegedly intimate with.
Sony Music, which owns the rights to much of the singer’s catalogue said it is an unofficial release, made up largely of unreleased songs from the last few years.
In the wake of a #MuteRKelly movement, Spotify managers in 2018 stated that they would be removing the I Believe I Can Fly star’s music from playlists and are no longer sponsoring his work.
