Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the Azimio La Umoja Presidential aspirant Raila Odinga are meeting for talks in Mombasa County.

A source stated that the detail of their discussions was not made public, however, the two leaders met in Mombasa where DP Gachagua addressed the governor’s induction while Raila celebrated Governor Abdulswamad Nassir’s swearing-in ceremony.

Raila Odinga campaign secretary, Dennis Onsarigo, is yet to comment on the development.

While expressing his excitement about the meeting, Gachagua said, “We have tremendous respect for our senior citizens. I was delighted this morning to have a tete a tete with our senior citizen former Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, in Mombasa,” said the deputy president.

Speaking in Mombasa, Raila, however, heavily criticised the judiciary for its decision to uphold President Ruto’s election.

Even as he maintained his stand on disagreeing with the ruling, Raila said that the people had the power to reform the judiciary as it was exercising donated power.

“Shame on the Judiciary of this country. We will talk. The Constitution of this country gives power to the people of Kenya and all those other people exercising power are exercising donated power. The Judiciary is no exception. If they become rogue, we have power as people of this country to reform them,” he said.
