Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca beat AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-0 on Sunday to claim a commanding first leg advantage in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup final.
Raja who played the first leg in front of their fans dominated the game from start to finish with a brace from Soufiane Rahimi and a second half penalty by Mahmoud Benhalib who is now the top-scorer in the competition this season with 12 goals.
The result keeps Raja coach Juan Carlos Garrido on track to becoming the first coach to win the African Confederation Cup with two clubs. The Spaniard guided Al Ahly of Egypt to success in 2014.
The result means Raja are on the verge of clinching their second CAF Confederations Cup crown and leaves AS Vita Club with a mountain to climb when they host the second leg in Kinshasa on the 2nd of December.
