President Cyril Ramaphosa will give the State of the Nation Address (SoNA) on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 7pm.

The address, which will take place before a joint session of Parliament, is a crucial event that brings stability to the country’s political, social, and economic landscape and underscores the strength of South Africa’s democracy.

During the speech, President Ramaphosa will outline the government’s key policy objectives and initiatives for the upcoming year, address any challenges, and discuss ways to unlock the country’s potential.

He will also review the progress made since his last SoNA in 2022 and reflect on the implementation of the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan (ERRP).

Meanwhile, the Presiding Officers, led by National Assembly Speaker Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and National Council of Provinces Chairperson Amos Masondo, will on Monday February 6 at 10:00 hold a hybrid media briefing on preparations to host the 2023 State of the Nation Address.
