Grammy-nominated hip hop artist Travis Scott was taken into custody on Friday at the upscale Georges V Hotel in Paris for alleged assault against a security guard, as confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office.

Following an altercation between the rapper and his bodyguard, the security guard attempted to intervene, leading to Scott’s arrest by the police. The Paris prosecutor’s office also stated that a criminal inquiry has been initiated.

Numerous French media outlets had previously indicated that Scott was intoxicated during the incident.
