La Liga side Real Betis are reportedly leading the pursuit to sign Manchester United winger Antony on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Brazilian winger, who became United’s second most expensive signing in history at £81.3 million in August 2022, has struggled to live up to expectations.
Despite scoring 12 goals since joining the club, Antony’s form has dipped significantly.
Notably, three of his goals came in his first three Premier League appearances, but he has only netted once in the league since April 2023.
Antony’s first-team opportunities have also diminished, with his Premier League starts dropping from 23 in his debut season to 15 last year, and none so far in the current campaign.
The 24-year-old has made just 13 appearances across all competitions this season, with a recent miss against Southampton on Thursday highlighting his struggles.
Sliding onto an Alejandro Garnacho cross, Antony managed to redirect the ball back to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale instead of scoring in an open net.
Several clubs have expressed interest in signing Antony, but Manchester United may need to subsidise his wages to facilitate a move.
Talks with Real Betis, currently 11th in La Liga and preparing for a Conference League play-off against Belgian side Gent next month, are reportedly the most advanced.
While no agreement has been finalised, Betis remain hopeful of completing the deal.
