Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema is making big waves on the streaming platform, YouTube. The young star has yet again hit another milestone in his 4 years career, becoming the afrobeats star with the most views on a single video.

The 22-year-old’s mega hit song ‘Calm Down’ has just surpassed Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to set the new streaming record on YouTube. Released about 11 months ago, the music video has amassed an impressive 357 million views – 2 million streams above Ckay’s 2020 mega hit ‘Love Nwantiti’ which previously held the record.

Rema holds the No.1 and No.4 spot of Afrobeats most streamed videos on the platform for ‘Calm down’ the original and its remix with Selena Gomez which has over 264million views in only 4 months. Runner up, 27-year-old Ckay has 355 million views for ‘Love Nwantiti’ followed by Burna boy’s 2018 hit song ‘On the low’ with 315 million views. The 5th spot is held by OBO, with 256 million streams for 2017 hit ‘Fall’. Burna boy’s ‘Ye’, Wizkid’s ‘Joro’, Sinach’s ‘Way Maker’, Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ acoustic version and Tekno’s ‘Pana’ hold from no.6 to no.10 most streamed in that order.

Rema has enjoyed global acceptance since dropping his debut album ‘Raves and Roses’ last year; in fact, this week ‘Calm Down’ has climbed up on the Billboards top 100 chart to a new peak spot at No.28.
