Author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Hosts Book Launch in Lagos (News Central TV)

Notable Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie debuted her first children’s book launch of her debut children’s book, “Mama’s Sleeping Scarf at the Alliance Française, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The ceremony was graced by literary enthusiasts and distinguished personalities, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the former Vice President for the World Bank’s Africa region, Obiageli Ezekwesili, Labour Party’s presidential aspirant Peter Obi, among others.

The event, which spotlighted the significance of literacy, featured addresses from Former Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, Harvard Business School‘s Senior Lecturer in Business Administration Hakim Belo-Osagie, and various other notable figures.

 “If you are going to be a good leader, you have to be a voracious reader. Read what will make you wise,” former Nigerian president Obasanjo said while delivering his speech.

Also, in attendance was Bella Disu, a prominent Nigerian business executive, and art enthusiast who spoke on the importance of reading culture. The occasion hosted by writer and book reviewer Kunle Kasumu, included a Q&A session, book signing, and, notably, a conducive environment for children to engage in both play and, of course, reading.
