At least 75 members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist organisation were killed by Somalian soldiers, a security official revealed on Monday.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Somalian army ransacked terrorists and liberated the village of Yasoman. They also seized weapons from the terrorists.
A statement by the Somalian Ministry of Information had revealed the liberation of 30 villages from the clutches of the dreaded group. The operations by the army were conducted in various areas in the county and at least 200 terrorists were killed.
Since the Somalian government urged locals to take up arms against the terrorists and defend themselves, there has been increased military presence in the Hiran region of the country.
Somalia has had to battle insecurity for at least fifteen years and is still suffering growing instability.
The change of government has done little to save the situation but with military actions of this kind, the Somalian government is making a statement of intent.
