A search and rescue team has unearthed $2 Million from a collapsed building rubble in Turkey after the tragic earthquake that rocked the region.

In a video that made the rounds on social media on Monday, the rescue team was seen pulling the cash from the ground as they counted it. The money is suspected to belong to one of the victims of the earthquake.

Two devastating earthquakes of 7.5 and 7.8 magnitudes respectively affected Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023, with the death toll reaching over 46,000.

Turkish President, Recep Erdogan, has described it as “the disaster of the century,” while concerted effort across the world has continued to appeal for more funds to aid rescue missions with many international bodies and countries donating to Turkey and Syria.

Ghanaian football player, Christian Atsu, was one of the victims that lost his life. His body was discovered three days ago and his remains were flown home to Ghana for burial.
