Residents Displaced After Gugulethu Fire Incident (News Central TV)

Several Gugulethu residents have been thrown into apprehension following a fire that ripped through another informal settlement in Cape Town.

Following ravaging fires in Masiphumelele, Dunoon, Philippi, and Khayelitsha, dozens of affected victims in Gugulethu are now homeless.

The City of Cape Town’s fire and rescue services said 24 people had been displaced and eight informal structures destroyed by the raging fire at Klipfontein Road.

There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire was still unknown. The fire was extinguished an hour after it started.

Human Settlements Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi joined by Malusi Booi visited Dunoon, Milnerton where a fire gutted 120 shacks two days before New Year’s Day.
