Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City has surpassed Didier Drogba to become the African player with the most Premier League assists of all time.
By assisting Kevin De Bruyne’s goal against Liverpool, Mahrez surpassed Didier Drogba as the African player with the most Premier League assists (56). It was his fifth league assist of the season.
Mahrez had 28 assists and 39 goals in four seasons at Leicester, and his performances at the King Power won him a move to the Etihad in 2018. Since joining Manchester City, he has proven to be an important member of Pep Guardiola’s squad, delivering 29 assists.
He has four Premier League titles and was awarded PFA Player of the Year in 2015-16.
The Citizens will play Southampton next before a Champions League double match against Bayern Munich.
