In an incredible exhibition match between two footballing greats, Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain scored 5 goals against a Saudi All-Star XI led by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lionel Messi broke the stalemate within the first three minutes of the action. With just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Cristiano Ronaldo equalised for the hosts by cleanly converting from the penalty spot after being fouled by PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas. PSG were then reduced to 10 men, but they continued to attack. Marquinhos restored the advantage soon before halftime, but Ronaldo scored his second goal immediately after to tie the score at the break.
PSG began the second half strongly, with Sergio Ramos scoring an easy tap-in inside the first 10 minutes. PSG’s celebrations, however, were cut short when Hyeon Soo Jang equalised shortly later.
PSG’s lead was then restored by Kylian Mbappe via the penalty spot. Hugo Ekitiké then made it 5-3 before Talisca scored the game’s final goal in stoppage time.
Ronaldo was withdrawn just after the hour mark as PSG upped the ante, despite being one man down. He however was crowned the man of the match following his brace.
