According to the Journal de Brazza website, Lavrov will discuss the effects of the war on food supplies with President Denis Sasou-Nguesso as Africa struggles with severe shortages and skyrocketing living expenses.

The two presidents will talk about bilateral collaboration, the Ugandan presidency announced in a statement on Sunday. Additionally, Uganda expressed its appreciation for the long-standing ties between Africa and the Soviet Union.

Later, the Russian ambassador will travel to Ethiopia in preparation for the second Russia-Africa summit, which will most likely take place in Addis Abeba between October and November.

Throughout order to manipulate public opinion over its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has increased its media operations in Africa.

Russia has intensified its diplomatic efforts in Africa as a result of Western sanctions and negative news. The discussions on Monday in Congo are the second stop on Lavrov’s tour of allies in Africa.

He was in Cairo on Sunday, when he initially met with President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi before speaking with Sameh Shukry, the other Egyptian president. Before speaking to the pan-Arab organization, Lavrov also had a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, according to the Arab League.

Lavrov and Shukry held a joint press conference where they both stated that they spoke with Egyptian authorities about Russia’s “military activity” in Ukraine, who called for “a political and diplomatic” resolution to the situation.

Lavrov attributed the breakdown of past peace negotiations to Ukraine.
