A stockpile of weapons and ammunition hidden by terrorists has been unearthed by Rwandan troops deployed to assist in the fight against insurgents in northern Mozambique.
The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) tweeted pictures of weapons and ammunition which it said terrorists had hidden in Mbau in Mocimboa da Praia district.
The hoard includes several weapons ranging from small arms, rockets as well as ammunition and shells.
They are said to have been hidden by the Insurgents as the RDF launched concerted attacks dislodging them from their command and control centres.
Since 2017, Cabo Delgado province has been hit by militant attacks, which have so far displaced about a million people and caused the deaths of around 4,000 others.
