South African police arrests killer of Limpopo student

Police in Limpopo have arrested a man suspected to be the killer of 21-year-old student, Precious Ramabulana. The suspect was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday.

Police say the suspected culprit was in possession of Precious’s SIM card, the object used in stabbing the victim and clothes stained with blood suspected to be that of Precious.

Recall that it was reported on Sunday that Precious Ramabulana was raped and stabbed 52 times in her apartment.

Before her gruesome murder, the 21-year-old was a student of Capricorn TVET College, Polokwane.

According to police spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, the victim was asleep in her rented room at ga-Joel Section in Mokomene when the suspect broke into her room through the window and unleashed an attack on her.

“… He stabbed her several times and fled from the scene. The deceased’s frantic screams were heard by a neighbour who called the police…”, Mojapelo said.

Mojapelo added that Precious was already lying in a pool of her own blood with multiple stab wounds on her body by the time the police arrived.

The motive for the dastardly attack remains unknown.
