Sadio Mane scored one of his easiest goals as he lobbed home Bayern Munich’s fourth goal in their 5-0 triumph against Freiburg in a Bundesliga encounter.
Before the game, Bayern had stated their intent to “make a point”, and they did not let up from the first whistle as. they cruised to a 5-0 victory, moving the German record champions up to the second position, only four points behind the league’s undisputed leaders, Union Berlin.
After last time out’s dismal 2-2 draw against rivals Borussia Dortmund, this solid effort against Freiburg was exactly what was needed to get back on track.
Bayern led 3-0 after 53 minutes thanks to goals from Serge Gnabry, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Leroy Sane. Three minutes later, Mane made it 4-0. Gnabry found the Senegal international inside the area and after a Freiburg defender failed to deal with the ball, it dropped to an open Mane who spotted goalkeeper Mark Flekken off his line and cheekily chipped the ball into the net.
Mane has now scored five goals in the Bundesliga. He also made it back-to-back goals, having been on target when Bayern sealed their passage to the Champions League last 16 with a 2-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday.
