Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on residents to actively participate in the upcoming local government elections, as he swore in the chairman and members of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).
Sanwo-Olu noted that LASIEC is responsible for overseeing council-level elections and emphasised the importance of a credible process. “Prepare yourselves because we have tasked them to ensure a free, fair, and credible poll,” he said.
In line with his commitment to infrastructure development, the governor inaugurated upgraded roads across Lagos Mainland, Somolu, and Kosofe local government areas, urging residents to maintain the improved infrastructure.
Earlier, while unveiling roads in Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu remarked: “We have started this year with project commissioning, and this momentum will continue throughout. Just yesterday, I signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill, enabling the implementation of a budget exceeding N3 trillion.”
Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, highlighted that the projects align with the state’s THEMES agenda and form a vital part of Lagos’ development blueprint.
