Sean Kingston‘s “Beautiful Girls” video has joined the exclusive Billion Views Club. The video which was uploaded on YouTube on May 26, 2007 has now surpassed 1 billion views.

“Beautiful Girls” is the breakout single by the reggae-influenced Jamaican musician Sean Kingston from his eponymous debut album. The contemporary R&B song samples Ben E. King‘s 1961 classic “Stand by Me”.

“Beautiful Girls” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four consecutive weeks and became Kingston’s signature song.

The multi-platinum certified hit now joins other music videos with over a billion streams including “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 featuring Nicki Minaj, “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, “We Are Young” by Fun. featuring Janelle Monáe, and more.

Ironically, the popular song received reactions over the controversial lyric, “You’ll have me suicidal.” The song was edited on the radio as “in denial.” Kingston’s self-titled debut album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also included the single, “Take Me There,” and the collaborative effort with Natasha Bedingfield on “Love Like This.”
