Sebastien Haller of Borussia Dortmund has returned to training for the first time since undergoing surgery to remove a testicular tumour.

After being diagnosed in July of last year, the Ivorian international and former Ajax star was obliged to endure two procedures. Haller’s second operation took place in November and clearly went as planned, since the 28-year-old is back in training and could be eligible for selection soon.

Sebastien Haller, who joined Dortmund from Ajax last summer, has yet to make a competitive appearance in the renowned black and yellow shirt because the tumor was detected before he could begin his Dortmund career.

Back in July, Sebastien Haller tweeted – “Thank you all for your many messages of support and affection since yesterday’s announcement,” Haller posted on social media. “My family and I thank you. I will now focus on my recovery to come back stronger.

However, there is finally some good news as he is due to fly to Marbella with the rest of his Dortmund teammates for a mid-season training camp before the Bundesliga resumes after the World Cup break.

“Hello guys, I’m finally back,” Sebastien Haller said in a video posted on Twitter. “It was not that easy but with your support it was better and easier to do. I’m just looking forward to seeing you in the stadium for some victories.”

For the time being, Haller is anticipated to participate in strength and conditioning training before progressing to light ball work. Haller could make his debut for the club near the end of the 2022/23 season.
