Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, vice president of the African Development Bank Group for Regional Development, Integration, and Service Delivery, will head a delegation to the second Summit for Africa’s Infrastructure Development, which is being co-hosted by the government of Senegal and the African Union Development Agency.

The summit intends to bring together important parties to support the second PIDA Priority Action Plan, including African governments, the business sector, development finance organisations, institutional investors, and development partners (PIDA PAP 2). The AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government approved the plan in 2021, which consists of 69 projects in the water, energy, ICT, and transportation sectors with an investment value of $160 billion.

The Summit will cover specific infrastructure initiatives through presidential roundtables, panel talks, and boardroom meetings.

Several African leaders will join Senegalese President Macky Sall, who is also the current chair of the African Union. These leaders include Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, Mohamed Bazoum of Niger, and Faure Gnassingbe of Togo.
