The Police have arrested at least 31 persons who converged to protest at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, approved as designated location for the #EndBadGovernance protests

News Central reports that the police picked some conveners who were denied access and use of the Eagle Square as a convergence point right at the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

Authorities of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had obtained a court order restricting the protesters to MKO Abiola National Stadium.

In the early hours of today, protesters had stayed away from the venue but they started regrouping around 11am before the police swooped on them with gunshots and teargas.

They also arrested journalists, who identified themselves before they were released and ordered to vacate the premises immediately.

    Details shortly…
