Security Forces Allegedly Disrupt Protesting Students in UNILAG (News Central TV)

According to reports, there is unrest at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, as a result of student demonstrations against the institution’s increase in tuition.

In the viral footage, as security personnel fired canisters to frighten the demonstrators, students could be seen rushing frantically to avoid being arrested.

The planned protest was being thwarted by men from the Department of State Services (DSS), police, and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

No student is permitted to enter the school as of 9:42 a.m. local time since several pupils are detected loitering near the gate.

On the condition of anonymity, a student told newsmen that they were teargassed this morning as they attempted to converge.
