The late former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, has been laid to rest in Isiokpo, his home town, in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers state.
The late Wigwe was buried alongside his wife Chizoba, and Chizi, his son, on Saturday.
NewsCentral Africa reports that Wigwe, his wife and son as well as Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), were in February involved in a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, United States.
All six passengers on board died.
The family had earlier released a six-day funeral arrangement for the deceased.
Dignitaries present at the funeral service included Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers; Alex Otti, governor of Abia; Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos.
Others were the late Wigwe’s long time friend and business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede; Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote group; Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra; James Ibori; former governor of Delta, Segun Agbaje, GCEO GT Holdings; Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation; Bukola Saraki, former senate president and Sanusi Lamido, former governor of Jigawa.
