Senator Kwankwaso Blames APC for Distracting Kano Governor

The Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has accused the opposition in Kano of distracting the state government for one year.

Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, made this statement during the declaration of a State of Emergency on education in Kano State.

He said, “Let me start by congratulating him on this historic day, the day the governor is declaring a State of Emergency on education.

“For those aware that the governor has been working from day one, you can see his achievements throughout the state.

“Despite the governor being distracted for about a year, immediately after the election, enemies of the State took him to Court – Tribunal, Appeal Court, and Supreme Court. They pursued these cases even though everyone knew he won the election.

“Even the enemies said they wanted to take it by force because they believed they had the government. Despite all that, the governor has continued working. We don’t understand what is happening, but the governor is persevering.

“This situation reminds me of my second term as governor when, two months after my swearing-in, we faced Boko Haram attacks in mosques, markets, police stations, and schools. We stayed focused and ensured we were not distracted.”

Few days ago, an Islamic cleric, Mallam Isa Ibrahim expressed grave concerns about the leadership in Kano State, specifically hitting at Governor Yusuf and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The scholar argues that the duo of Governor Yusuf and former Governor Kwankwaso are not interested in the governance of Kano State but politics.

The cleric accused Governor Yusuf of being a “mere errand boy” for Kwankwaso, suggesting that he is focused on seeking vengeance against perceived political enemies, which undermines peace and development in Kano State.
