The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan’s accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and her expulsion from the Red Chamber doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
This is due to the suspended Kogi senator’s decision to take her case to a worldwide forum on Tuesday.
Senator Natasha is calling for justice and the involvement of international democratic institutions during the Women in Parliament session at the Inter-Parliamentary Union Meeting (IPU) at the United Nations in New York.

The lawmaker is requesting justice for what she claims was unfair treatment of her. Senator Natasha said that her Senate suspension was “illegal.”
She voiced concerns about her safety after her remarks.
According to the senator from Kogi Central, there are signs that “the powers that be” in Nigeria would detain her against her will in New York for raising the issue during the international gathering.
