Senegal’s President, Macky Sall, has pledged his country’s unwavering support for the upcoming All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
This occurred during a recent event hosted by Mike Dada, executive producer and president of the All-Africa Music Awards, at the president’s official house in Dakar, the country’s capital.
Remember that Senegal was named the event’s host nation on November 4, 2022, following a global media conference and unveiling ceremony conducted at the King Fahd Royal Palace Hotel in Dakar by the African Union Commission and the International Committee of AFRIMA.
“I am very happy and honoured to host the Teranga edition of the biggest music award in Africa right here in Senegal. The people of Senegal are excited about this historical feat, given that this is the first time the awards will be held in a francophone country.” – he said as he expressed his delight at the announcement.
The eighth edition of the prestigious music festival is set to begin on January 12, 2023, with a tour of the host nation, a courtesy visit to the president of the host nation, a visit to a school, gift-giving, and a welcoming reception.
