A court in the African island of Seychelles has dropped the witchcraft charges levied against opposition leader, Patrick Herminie.
Patrick Herminie was taken into custody by the police four months ago, on suspicion of exchanging social media messages with a Tanzanian who was found in possession of documents and bottles labeled as satanic and having language and symbols associated with witchcraft.
Herminie has insisted that the accusations are politically driven and meant to prevent him from running for a presidential candidacy the following year.
The Tanzanian opposition leader is still facing the charges, which have been linked to the two exhumed bodies found in a cemetery on Mahé, the major Seychelles island.
