Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on an official state visit at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali.

The Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, along with other members of the Ethiopian and Nigerian diplomatic corps, welcomed him at the airport.

During his visit, Vice President Shettima will take part in the official launch of Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Programme, a flagship environmental initiative.

The programme aims to combat deforestation, promote biodiversity, and address the adverse effects of climate change by planting 20 billion tree seedlings over four years.

As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in agriculture and industrial development, the Vice President will also tour major industrial zones and integrated agricultural facilities in selected regions of Ethiopia.
