Cameroon duo of Pascal Siakam and Joel Embiid have been voted as starters for the NBA All-Star Game billed to take place on the 16th of February in Chicago.

Siakam is leading the Raptors in scoring at 23.5 points, while also averaging 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, one steal and one block per game, all career-highs.

Born in Douala, Cameroon, Siakam won the Most Improved Player award at the 2019 NBA Awards after helping the Raptors win their first-ever NBA championship.

After learning he would be a starter in the ASG, Siakam couldn’t help but share his excitement.

“I appreciate every single one of y’all who voted for me! Your support means everything,” he shared on Instagram.

Siakam will be the seventh Raptor to make the All-Star team, joining Vince Carter, Antonio Davis, Chris Bosh, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Kawhi Leonard.

Siakam’s compatriot, Joel Embiid, was also named as a starter, making his third consecutive appearance in the All-Star game.

He is also the first 76ers player to start in three consecutive All-Star games since Allen Iverson made seven appearances in a row from 2000 to 2006.
