In honour of the 2023 Armed Forces Day, the Government of Sierra Leone has officially declared Wednesday, February 22 as a national public holiday.

This particular day is dedicated to commemorating and demonstrating appreciation for the Armed Forces who bravely fought during the second world war and throughout the eleven years of civil war that occurred within Sierra Leone.

It is the esteemed duty of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) to ensure the territorial security of Sierra Leone’s borders and to defend the national interests of the nation, all the while operating within the confines of its international obligations.
