This weekend, the electoral body of Sierra Leone will start a new voter registration drive that would compel all eligible voters to reregister. To register to vote, individuals must present their national identification cards.
The first round of the operation is scheduled to go until September 17, while the second stage is scheduled to start on September 20 and last until October 4, according to a tweet from the Sierra Leonean electoral commission (ECSL).
Across the nation, more than 3,500 centers have been mapped for the exercise. Sierra Leoneans who are 18 years of age and older have been asked by President Julius Maada Bio to get out and register to vote. On June 24 of the next year, the nation will have general elections.
