OpenAI, the company that owns ChatGPT, announced on Wednesday that it had resolved a bug that allowed a small group of users to view the titles of other users’ conversation histories with the popular chatbot, which was considered a “significant issue”.
Users won’t be able to view their chat history on March 20 between 8 am GMT and 5 pm GMT as a result of the fix, Chief Executive Sam Altman announced in a tweet.
After its release in the latter part of last year, ChatGPT experienced a meteoric growth rate as users all over the world used the conversational chatbot’s prompts to generate everything from poems and novels to jokes and movie screenplays.
The artificial intelligence model GPT-4, an update to GPT-3.5, which was made accessible to users through ChatGPT on November 30, was released by Microsoft-backed OpenAI last week.
According to statistics from analytics company Similarweb, people have been using the underutilised search engine Bing, as a result of the integration of OpenAI’s GPT technology into it.
