Sit-at-Home: Violence in Aba, Partial Lock Down in Umuahia

Reports from Aba, Abia State indicated that violence erupted in the commercial city as unknown gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home engaged in gun duel.

It was gathered that at Obikabia Junction in the Ogbor Hill axis of the city, the gunmen engaged some soldiers in the area in gun battle.

An unconfirmed report has it that two soldiers were killed in the gun duel, necessitating the cordoning off of the area by security men.

At Ovom, another part of Ogbor Hill, a report said gunmen hoodlums engaged security men in a gun battle. Although no one was killed, three tricycles were burned after their operators refused to obey the sit-at-home order.

In Umuahia, the situation was different since there was partial compliance to the sit-at-home order. Shop owners opened for business as there were no restrictions on movement.
