Six Killed in Fatal Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

According to Florence Okpe, the sector’s Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) public relations officer, in a statement in Abeokuta, the state capital, three other individuals sustained injuries on Friday.

Okpe revealed that the likely cause of the accident was the excessive speed of the Sienna Space Bus, which rear-ended a moving truck. The vehicles involved are a minibus and an unidentified truck that did not stop after the collision.

The injured individuals were taken to Patmag Hospital, Ogere, while the deceased were placed in the FOS IPARA Morgue.

Akinwumi Fasakin, the Sector Commander of the Ogun Sector Command, referred to the crash as avoidable, emphasising the importance of drivers exercising caution and complying with traffic regulations while driving on the highway.

He also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the crash victims and wished the injured individuals a speedy recovery.
