Sol Bamba Now Cancer-Free 4 Months After Diagnosis

Ivory Coast and Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba has announced he’s free from cancer, four months after he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Bamba, who currently plays in the Championship tweeted about his freedom from the neoplastic condition and said he “feels over the moon”.

He appreciated the NHS for their efforts towards his recovery.

Bamba, 36, was diagnosed four months ago and swiftly began his chemotherapy. After making good progress with his treatment, he resumed training in April. He featured as a substitute in Cardiff’s last game of the season against Rotherham two weeks ago in what was his 7th appearance of the season.

His career has so far taken him to France where he cut his teeth with PSG, Scotland, Turkey, Italy and England where he plays currently.

The defender has 46 caps for the Elephants and has featured for them at the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup.

He last played for his country in 2014.
