Sadiq Adan Ali Dodishe, the spokesperson for the Somali Police, has survived a bombing attack in Mogadishu, the capital.
According to local media reports, the incident happened on Tuesday night in Waberi District of Banadir region.
“A land mine had been buried in the side of the road, and it targeted a vehicle the Somali police spokesman was in as it passed near the 21 October road in Waberi District,” reports said.
“Somali police officials said the spokesman survived the explosion attack and is doing well, but shrapnel damaged his vehicle.”
A statement issued by the spokesman said that the explosion was targeted at his car, but that he was not in it at the time of the explosion.
The police spokesman said that his car was not damaged in the blast, but that he was among the civilians and vehicles that were passing by at the time of the blast.
“Thank God no one was hurt in my car. Some passers-by were hurt, and we pray to God to heal their wounds. The terrorists cannot intimidate us. We have already dedicated ourselves to the service of the nation,” said the spokesman.
Only one woman, who was at the scene, was reportedly wounded.
No group has said it carried out the attack..
