Son Heung-min has suggested uncertainty over his future at Tottenham Hotspur, declining to rule out a move after being linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia.
The 32-year-old forward, who captains Spurs, has just one year left on his current contract. Speaking after South Korea’s 4-0 win over Kuwait in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday, Son remained vague about his next steps.
“Rather than saying anything right now, I think it’s best for everyone to wait and see,” he told reporters. “Regardless of where I play, I will always give my utmost. That will never change.”
Son recently celebrated his first trophy with Spurs after the club defeated Manchester United 1-0 in Bilbao to lift the Europa League title, ending a 17-year wait for silverware. However, the celebrations were followed by upheaval, as Tottenham dismissed manager Ange Postecoglou following a disastrous league campaign that saw them narrowly avoid relegation.

Despite facing criticism over inconsistent performances throughout the season, Son maintained a positive outlook and insisted he will bounce back next season—wherever that may be.
“Some may say I had a poor season, but for me, this year meant a lot because football is ultimately about winning. People remember winners,” said the former Bayer Leverkusen star, who joined Spurs in 2015.
“I wasn’t at my best for much of the campaign, but I’m hopeful of being in better shape for the new season.”
Son’s comments came after he featured as a late substitute in South Korea’s dominant win over Kuwait. That result followed a 2-0 victory over Iraq last week, which secured their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
South Korea topped Group B in the third round of Asian qualifiers and remained unbeaten across 10 matches.
“People often assume it’s easy for us in Asia, but that’s far from the truth,” Son added. “What helped us achieve this was the unity and shared determination among the squad not to lose any match.”
