South Africa Needs Stricter Gun Laws – Gauteng Premier Lesufi (News Central TV)

In light of recent events, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi addressed the media on the need for stricter gun laws in the country. This statement came after visiting the family of late rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, who was tragically murdered.

The Gauteng province, under Lesufi’s leadership, will provide support to Forbes’ family in ensuring he receives a fitting farewell. The rapper and his former manager, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, were killed in a brutal attack outside a popular restaurant in Durban’s Florida road last Friday night.

“If we can’t act, those who have illegal guns will finish those that are law-abiding,” Lesufi said. “And those that have illegal guns will play God and decide who lives and who dies.

“Our lekgotla was very clear that we will approach the legislators and that we need a debate and serious action to be taken on strengthening gun laws across the board.

“As a state, it’s high time that we take a particular stance and attend to this matter.”
