Pupils from surrounding schools in Maqheleng area in Ficksburg gathered at Tlotlisong Secondary School in South Africa’s Free State province on Thursday to express their grief over the alleged death of a schoolmate.

The pupils went on rampage following reports that a pupil had taken his own life after being bullied by a teacher, leaving a heart-breaking suicide note that exposed the disturbing cause of death.
Anger and frustration quickly spread among the students, and soon they had taken two police officers and teachers hostage inside the school.
The pupils then flipped a police car on its side amid cheers, completely disregarding the officers’ attempts to calm them down. It took additional police units to finally disperse them from the school and return to a state of order.
The incident is a stark reminder of the potential consequences of bullying, and serves as a warning to everyone that such a tragedy should never be allowed to happen again.
It is a heartbreaking event that should serve as a wake-up call to parents, teachers, and peers alike to be more mindful of each other and to actively fight against bullying in all its forms.
