South African international, Percy Tau was on Sunday thrust into immediate action as he made his Brighton and Hove Albion debut in a 4-3 penalty victory over Newport County in the FA Cup.
Tau was recalled from his third loan spell in three seasons after impressing at Anderlecht managed by former Manchester City skipper, Vincent Kompany.
He was signed from Premier Soccer League side, Mamelodi Sundowns in the summer of 2018 and was immediately shipped out to the Belgian second division at Royal Union Saint Gilliose.
He got another move to Belgian giants, Club Brugge afterward where he showed a lack of consistency after early good impressions.
The South African star made a move to Anderlecht during the summer of 2020 and had scored 4 goals in 14 games before his recall.
Highly regarded back home, Tau, 26 is considered one of South Africa’s modern lights in football, where his exploits and career trajectory have been compared with former Everton winger, Steven Pienaar’s.
