The Secretary-General of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Marshall Dlamini lashed out at Police Minister Bheki Cele, calling him a “coward” in a heated exchange of words on day one of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) debate.

Cele denied the claims on allegations of an assassination plot and explained that Dlamini had urged him to confirm the alleged plot, which he refused to do.

Dlamini objected, claiming that Cele had called him about the plot, and referred to him as a “coward.”

The EFF had previously reported the alleged plot, but the IFP denied the claims as unsubstantiated and fabricated, calling on Cele to clarify.
