A South Korean military drone collided with a stationary helicopter at an airfield, sparking a fire that was contained within 20 minutes, according to the country’s defence ministry. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties from the incident.
The drone involved was an Israeli-made Heron, a large reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), as confirmed by military sources. The collision occurred at an airfield in Yangju, located north of Seoul. At the time of the accident, there was no indication of any interference from North Korea, such as GPS signal jamming, the report stated.

This incident follows a similar crash involving the same type of unmanned aerial vehicle in the same area in November of the previous year, as reported by Yonhap.
