The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, and Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, have conveyed their warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 72nd birthday.
Speaker Abbas, in his congratulatory message to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, acknowledged President Tinubu’s lifelong dedication to serving the country and humanity. Describing him as a “grandmaster of progressive politics,” Speaker Abbas praised Tinubu for redefining politics and governance in Nigeria, asserting that the history of Nigeria’s democracy would be incomplete without President Tinubu’s significant contributions.
Speaker Abbas further expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s administration would be regarded as one of the best in Nigeria’s history, highlighting the President’s continuous improvement with age. He prayed for Allah’s strength, grace, and wisdom to guide Tinubu in steering the country through its current challenges.
The Speaker urged Nigerians to pray for the President and extend maximum support to his government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to achieve its objectives.
On his part, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu commended President Tinubu for his role in revitalising the economy. In a statement by his official spokesman, Kalu lauded Tinubu’s resilience, courage, and strategic leadership in advancing the country’s development.
Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future under Tinubu’s leadership, Kalu assured the President of the necessary legislative support to achieve set objectives. He praised Tinubu’s track record as a former governor of Lagos State and applauded his vision for a united country and a thriving economy.
Kalu concluded his message by offering prayers for Tinubu’s continued health, strength, and wisdom to lead the nation effectively. He assured Tinubu of his unwavering legislative support and interventions.
President Tinubu, born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos State, served as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. He played a key role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013 and was elected as the 16th President of Nigeria on May 29, 2023.
