Stage set for 2nd AITEO-NFF Football Awards

All is set for the second edition of the AITEO-NFF Football Awards. The event which will take place in Lagos, will have in attendance Secretary General of world football–ruling body FIFA, Ms Fatma Samoura.

The Senegalese–born administrator expressed her delight with being invited to Nigeria for the Awards and also receiving the NFF Order of Merit.

Among the highlights of the night will be a special honour to the 1994 set of Super Eagles teams who were the first to qualify Nigeria for the FIFA World Cup finals and won the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.  

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while politician, avid football financier and supporter, Chief Moshood Abiola, who died in 1998, will be honoured post –humously with the NFF Presidential Award.
